Developing around us...

Have you noticed the Cities developing around us?

We are losing revenue as a result.

The overwhelming majority of our sales tax revenue is from the population based formula.  We need smart development in housing, to attract what retail we can grab (since most retail purchases are made online), and job creation.

2700 N. has many options as well as Hwy 89, however, UDOT is restrictive with access to the road.  This makes it costly and undesirable in many cases, however, with the right plan and ordinances we could see those areas thrive and provide a steady stream of revenue to the City lessening the burden on the property tax base.

I hope you would consider voting for me.

Toby Mileski for City Council.

Thank you!

Pleasant View City Elections!

This November there are 4 City Council positions open.

Pleasant View City put it in the newsletter, however, FORGOT one important detail.

THE FILING DEADLINE!

The time for filing is June 3rd to June 7th. at noon when City Hall closes.

You do not have much time!  It is time for YOU to get involved and make a difference!

The City Council is the legislative body of the City, sets policy and approves the budget, these are just a few things the City Council does.  Also, with a super majority vote, the City Council can add/subtract the duties of the Mayor and/or City Administrator.

If there is something that you feel should be changed or modified, NOW is the time for you to step up and get involved!

Sincerely,
Toby Mileski

Working on the appointment...

Hit a road block at the Weber County Commission meeting yesterday.  My appointment to the UTA Board of Trustees was delayed.  The Commission claims it is from UTA, however, the letter from UTA to the County says otherwise.  I cannot help to think this is a stall tactic same as when Mayor Taylor was trying to be seated.

Stay tuned…

Here is the article from the standard on the meeting.

New UTA Board of Trustee member

Now that North Ogden Mayor Brent Taylor is leaving to serve his County, (Bless him), that left a vacancy down at the UTA.

The majority members of the Weber Area Council of Governments (consisting of the Mayors of Weber County and the Weber County Commissioners) elected me to represent the County and take over for Mayor Taylor in his absence.

This is mainly due to my ability to cooperate and get the job done!  I could have not asked for a better assignment and been honored more than with the approving vote.

Boehme Sports Complex could COST YOU MORE MONEY

Yes… Cost you MORE MONEY.
While in office, I negotiated a deal for the adjacent property owner to the South to donate the land if the City built a road off HWY 89.  This was scheduled to be build with funds from the RDA which would benefit us residents and the adjacent property for development helping our tax base.
Now, I understand the adjacent property owner wants more!  That right, it is not enough WE (the residents pay over a $250,000 to benefit them, now they want the acre of ground at the rear of their property at your EXPENSE, this happens to be the acre of ground that I laid the ground work for it to be our own GREEN WASTE FACILITY, now that I am not there, you will need to contact the members of the City Council if you want to stop this taking of your money!

Call or email and tell these City Council members you are opposed to giving up more property/money for the benefit of private business.  They will listen to you!!
